On the afternoon of October 11, 2025, Professor Zhaoping Li—a CUSPEA scholar, Director of the Department of Sensory and Sensorimotor Systems at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen, Germany, and a faculty member in the Computer Science Department at the University of Tübingen—was invited to deliver a lecture at the 95th Striving Forum of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Under the theme "From Knowledge Pursuit to Wisdom Cultivation: Exploring the Mysteries of the Brain Through the Lens of Physics," she guided students on an intellectual journey to explore the intricacies of the brain from a physics perspective.

At fifteen, he left Shanghai; at thirty-one, claimed the Nobel Prize; at forty-six, returned to his homeland. Through a lifetime of migration and pursuit, Tsung-Dao Lee wrote a pivotal chapter for Chinese science. From a youth born into a scholarly family, to a student traversing thousands of miles in exile; from a young scholar in offices across the ocean, to a dedicated contributor to China’s scientific and educational endeavors. His footsteps spanned the Eastern and Western hemispheres, yet his heart remained steadfastly tied to the land of China.


Targeting primary and secondary school students, the Tsung-Dao Lee Library at Shanghai Jiao Tong University has launched a series of outreach lectures dedicated to promoting the spirit of scientists. By presenting Dr. Tsung-Dao Lee’s unique educational journey and outstanding achievements through storytelling, the initiative aims to ignite teenagers’ interest in science, sow the seeds of scientific exploration in their hearts.
